Time to focus on ICT
Were you aware that in 2002 Ofsted stated that only 25% of primary
schools were making good use of computers in the classroom to support teaching
and learning in subjects other than ICT?
Did you know the Primary National Strategy is currently developing a new
range of materials to support primary schools in effective use of ICT to
enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum?
Did you know that all head teachers can benefit from participating in
the NCSL's Strategic Leadership in ICT (SLICT) course?
Are you aware of the Leadership Team Toolkit being developed by the
Primary National Strategy, Becta and NCSL to help leadership teams ensure
effective use of ICT across the curriculum in their schools?
Did you know your school has money, in the form of eLearning Credits
(eLCs), to spend on relevant multimedia resources to support teaching and
learning in the classroom for all foundation and primary subjects across all
key stages?
Have you or a colleague recently used a multimedia package you want to
recommend to other teachers and have you considered sending in a software
review to Curriculum Online?
Were you aware that the current eLC allocation ends in August 2004 and
that it must be spent or lost — as LEAs are required to re-distribute this
money if another school needs it?
